What will happen to the Kabum community?

Discord is about to become one big, fat piece of 💩
What will happen to the Kabum community? Since before COVID, we had structured everything you see here.
We believed in this platform, but like all things driven by capitalism, it tends to ROT.

I knew this would happen sooner or later, and it’s indeed about to happen… When the time comes, we’ll move to an independent platform, far from systems driven solely by ads and profit.
I’ve already started putting together something that could work — it definitely won’t be easy, and we’ll probably lose some users, but to me, the motto is: “WHO LOVES US, FOLLOWS US.”

Here’s the latest news: https://www.gamingbible.com/news/discord-as-we-know-it-may-be-over-057400-20250424

A quick summary here:

Discord has announced that Humam Sakhnini will become the new CEO starting April 28, 2025. Sakhnini, who brings over 15 years of experience in the gaming industry, previously held leadership roles at Activision Blizzard and King Digital Entertainment. He replaces Jason Citron, Discord’s co-founder, who will now serve as CEO Advisor while remaining on the Board of Directors. Co-founder Stan Vishnevskiy will continue in his role as CTO.
In a message to employees, Citron explained that the decision stems from the need for new leadership to guide Discord through its next stage of growth and a potential future as a public company. He praised Sakhnini’s track record and expressed confidence in his ability to lead Discord forward, while staying true to its core mission of bringing people together through gaming.
